INGA GENIS

Inga Genis – Professional Horse Riding Coach and Equine Educator

Inga Genis is a highly experienced horse riding coach with over a decade of expertise in teaching dressage, show jumping, cross-country, and trail/endurance riding. With a deep passion for equestrian sport, Inga is dedicated to helping students progress to competition level in their preferred discipline.
Although Inga’s stable is home to competition horses, she is also able to offer lessons for beginners, particularly through her retired dressage schoolmaster, Alhandro. Inga’s equestrian journey began at a young age, and her love for horses has only grown over the years. She takes great pride in guiding students of all skill levels, not only in riding but also in understanding the art of handling horses on the ground.
Inga specializes in teaching join-up at liberty, a method that fosters mutual respect between horse and human through subtle body language and communication. In addition to her coaching, Inga has offered numerous sentient horse clinics on her beautiful Byron Bay hinterland property, where she continues to share her knowledge and love for horses, joy and nature with others.
A passionate advocate for holistic practices, Inga integrates daily breathing techniques, yoga, dance, and equine interaction into her routine to cultivate balance, energy, and joy. She believes in the power of being present in the moment and drawing wisdom from both her beautiful horses and the natural world.
In 2022, Inga successfully wrote and secured a regional grant for Northern Rivers Pony Clubs to build a much-needed cross-country course for equine eventing. This grant resulted in $300,000 in funding, and Inga has since managed the entire project, which includes 15 yards, a beautiful course of solid jumps, a 20-meter water jump, a warm-up training area, a compost toilet, and an equine wash-bay. This facility serves the Northern Rivers region and beyond, filling a long-standing gap in equine infrastructure.
Alongside her equestrian endeavors, Inga has had a successful 30-year career as a manufacturing jeweller, specializing in handmade, personalized jewellery, particularly wedding and engagement rings. She has worked as an in-house jeweller for prestigious establishments in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and has held numerous exclusive exhibitions in high-end galleries in Sydney and Byron Bay.
Inga’s love for horses has even influenced her jewellery designs, and she has created a unique horse-themed jewellery collection, which can be viewed on her website, www.IngaGenisJewellery.com. She continues to take custom orders for high-end jewellery, but most of her time is now spent in nature, enjoying the company of her five beloved horses, Inga’s beautiful family and her cherished community.
